Spinning Plates – A Documentary

Spinning Plates is a documentary about three extraordinary restaurants and the incredible people who make them what they are.

One includes the visionary restaurant Alinea named the seventh-best in the world whose owner and chef Grant Achatz is one of the most acclaimed chefs working today, must battle a life-threatening cancer while continung to fullfill his life long passion. 

The second is a 150-year-old 6th generation Iowa based family restaurant Breitbah's Country Dining, still standing only because of the special and unique bond with its community.

The last is a small fledging Mexican restaurant La Cocina de Gabby owned by one couple that risk everything just to survive and provide for their young daughter.

Together their unforgettable stories of family, legacy, passion and survival come together to reveal how meaningful food and culture can be, and the power it has to connect us to one another.
